Yellow-bellied Israel

How noble! The Israeli military says it may halt ground operations for three hours a day - upon which it will resume leveling to the ground one of the most crowed and miserable enclaves on earth, besieged by 38 years of direct military occupation and a two year crippling blockade that has denied Palestinians access to every sort of human essential from food to fuel to desperately needed medical supplies. Goods and services are not allowed to enter or exit Gaza, virtually paralysing the economy. Heather Sharp of BCC reports that "Reduced fuel supplies and a lack of spare parts have had a heavy knock-on impact on sewage treatment, waste collection, water supply and medical facilities."

That thin strip of land called Gaza holds up to l.5 million men, women and children. It is a rectangular shaped parcel of land approximately three to seven miles wide and 25 miles long. The Israeli government is effectively assaulting an imprisoned people under famine-like conditions. Operation Turkey Shoot.

Cole's column is out in Salon.com, "Neoconservatism dies in Gaza: The recent Israeli offensive has put the final nail in the coffin of the Bush administration's Middle East fantasy.".

Last but not least: BREAKING NEWS!!!!
